With Ford’s 2011 Edge making the first-drive rounds, it’s no surprise Nissan has let loose the first images and details on the 2011 Murano, though it won’t be on sale until mid-October. The new Murano gets a mild facelift and some new features for the 2011 model year, though we’ll have to wait until closer to sales start to find out how much the upgrades will cost.

Two new models join the lineup as well, the SV FWD and SV AWD. The new SV-trim gets a heap of standard equipment, including driver’s power lumbar support, rearview monitor, and seven-inch color LCD screen. The SV slots in above the S, but below the SL and LE models, and is available, as the trim names indicate, in both front- and all-wheel drive.

All 2011 Muranos get a refreshed grille, new tail lights, a new 18-inch alloy wheel choice, and minor interior and feature refinements. Inside, the 2011 Murano gets a new white instrument color, new center stack colors, and added equipment to the SL trim level, including standard iPod ad Bluetooth connectivity, a Bose audio system, a HomeLink transceiver and heated steering wheel. A new Graphite Blue color is also available, and the high-spec LE gets a new wood grain hue.

The standard powertrain across the Murano range is Nissan’s venerable VQ-series 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated at 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque mated to an Xtronic CVT continously variable transmission.
