Just eight months after Nissan tweaked the Dualis range, the face-lifted model has arrived.The Dualis has a new look inside and out, more equipment and Nissan has rejigged the line-up. They have also tinkered with the suspension and improved insulation to reduce noise intrusion into the cabin.
The ST equipment grade is now only available in 2WD, the AWD model dropped due to lack of demand.Nissan says figures show the all-wheel-drive model accounts for between 20 and 25 per cent of total Dualis sales. The Ti equipment line is the most popular.
The Dualis accounts for 10 per cent of Nissan’s total monthly volume and the car maker says that more than 80 per cent of these customers are new to the Nissan brand.Headlining the changes is the exterior make over. Nissan’s brand manager for Crossover vehicles, Adrian Givoye, described the redesign as “big as they get in the Nissan camp”.
The front end has been completely redesigned and incorporates a new front bumper, guards, grille and headlights. The raised strakes on the bonnet are longer and more defined, and the front edge of the bonnet is shaped around the headlights. The headlights feature more intricate detailing. The lower bumper area has been reshaped for a more aggressive look but also with a practical purpose to improve air flow to the radiator.
The new sheet metal also helps make the Dualis more aerodynamic.
At the rear, the styling changes include new clear lens covers for the reversing and indicator lights, a new lower section for the brake and park lights, 12-globe LED stop lights and the rear spoiler has been slightly re-profiled.
Dualis II’s new instrument clusterStep inside and there is a new instrument cluster design, chrome bezels surrounding the road and engine speed gauges and a new computer display (similar in style to the Volkswagen and Audi models) between the two gauges that shows trip and cruise control information.
There is new lighting in the foot wells and more storage places for your bit and bobs – including a new cubby hole in the centre dash area.In the 2WD models there is now a spot for keys and car park tickets located behind the gear lever where the AWD shift button is on the AWD models.
