Nissan President
Nissan President was a Japanese luxury limousine car introduced by Nissan in the 1960s as a luxury sedan sold only in the Japanese market. The President was comparable with Rolls-Royce models and the Toyota Century. It is mainly used by Japanese dignitaries, Parliament, government, congress man, and elite businessmen. By the late 1980s, the car saw international introduction to some countries like Singapore and Hongkong with very limited sales. And lately in US, The Nissan President is re badged for sale the Infiniti Q45.
Many of the later Nissan President models (1990 onwards) were based on the Nissan Cedric chassis, but were distinctly different. There were 4 trim levels:
1. Base,
2. JS,
3. Sovereign (long wheelbase version),
4. Royal Limousine (split passenger compartment version).
During Nissan’s re-structing in 1999, production was temporarily halted. Due to Nissan’s cost cutting in 2003, the President was replaced by a rebadged Nissan Cima.
